Peace Oke, RN, CM/DN, WCC, CDP, RAC-CT, CDONA/LTC, FACDONA- President

Peace Oke, the presiding President of Maryland NADONA/LTC, is the Director of Nursing at Riderwood, one of the Erickson Living communities. Her tenure with Erickson Living community began at Riderwood in Silver Spring in April 2005 as a Quality Care Coordinator. She then transitioned to the ADON in August of 2007 and currently is the Director of Nursing as of January of 2013. Peace Oke has been at Riderwood for the past 10 years and has over 21 years of experiential management with cumulative over 26 years of health service industry practice. Since the commencement of her health service profession 26 years ago, Peace has functioned in various capacities, such as, Director of Nursing , Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Sub-acute services on a vent unit, Director of Clinical Services, telemetry nurse, CMA/GNA and a medical receptionist. In addition to the above, Peace Oke also worked for the state of Maryland as a Forensic nurse practitioner and consultant for 20 years. As a consultant, Peace was instrumental in establishing several assisted leaving facilities including Morning side house of Laurel in Laurel, Maryland. Peace is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) and has featured in an AMDA “Know-It-Alll” medication administration educational DVD highlighting proper Clinical Practice Guidelines for administering inhaler medications. She has also contributed to the McKnight’s Long Term Care News in September 2012. In 2009, as the ADON at Riderwood she was involved with the Alzheimer’s Project. Furthermore, she is Alumni of Montgomery College and Serves on the Montgomery College’s Nursing Advisory Board, as well as an Executive Board member of the College Success Scholars Program (CSS) Parent Advisory Board at University of Maryland College Park. In 2014, she was inducted into the NADONA Academy of Fellows and awarded Southeast Nursing Administrator of the year.

Michelle S. Jambora, RN, QAC, CDP, CDONA/LTC- Vice President

Michelle Jambora, the Vice President of Maryland NADONA/LTC, has over 26 years combined of Clinical Nursing and Management, Care Coordination, Consulting, and Clinical Operations experience in Skilled, Long Term Care, Acute Care and Assisted Living Settings. She has proven leadership skills and success in establishing or
developing cohesive teams to better serve the residents, families and staff. Her commitment to promoting excellence and quality care has served and continues to be an inspiration to others. Her personal ethics and sensitivity have endeared to those who know or have worked with her. Michelle strongly believes and advocates for residents and dedicated staff she serves. Her passion and commitment to quality care is truly evident whenever you interact and work with her.  Leading from the “Heart” comes naturally and it is evident that Michelle exemplifies Communicare’s core values of leading from the HEART –honesty, excellence, accountability, respect and teamwork are known traits she possess. Michelle Jambora is known by her peers, colleagues, and any organization(s) she may be or may have been affiliated with to be transparent, helpful, caring and responsive and often – when a facility is in a crisis and needs immediate guidance or intervention to get back on track– Michelle Jambora is the name that comes to mind to those who have worked closely with her.  Michelle Jambora has been consistently recognized by surveyors from different states for her compassion, commitment and diligence in promoting quality care. She has been a recipient of many awards from different organizations throughout her career and some of these awards include, but are not limited to - Director of Nursing of the Year Award 2012 (MD NADONA), RN Unit Manager of the Year (2008) for MD Tri-County DON Association, Rising Stars Award of the Year 2006 (Life Span), Rising Star Award (NADONA/LTC 2019).  Michelle Jambora has been a member of NADONA for many years as well as NCCDP (National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners) and used to be a member for AANAC (American Association of Assessment Coordinators).

Rosann Derosier, RN, CDONA/LTC, CALNA- Corresponding Secretary/ Membership Chairman

Rosann's nursing career has been in long term care except for three years in Labor and delivery, postpartum.  She has worked at Fairhaven since moving to Maryland almost 20 years ago.  She has served as a charge nurse, supervisor, and Director of Nursing, regional Director of Nursing for Assisted Living Integrace.  At present, Rosann is the Director of Assisted Living and assist with the skilled and long term care nursing units.

Joanne Shafik, RNC, MSN, RAC-CT- Treasurer

Joanne is currently the Treasurer of Maryland NADONA/LTC and has also served as co-chair of past educational/banquet programs. She has recently worked for the last 8 years in the MDS department in a LTC facility. Her career in healthcare combines both progressive management positions over 13 yrs in LTC and 15 yrs as a Nurse Consultant in the LTC pharmacy industry. She is past recipient of the Maryland Nadona Member of the Year Award (2003).
